Hibiscus Flower

Hibiscus Flower (Roselle sabdariffa) is a species of flowering plant in the genus Hibiscus that is native to Africa. The stems are used for the production of a bast fibre and the dried cranberry tasting calyces are commonly steeped to make a popular infusion known as carcade, teas, drinks and more. The beverage produced locally from hibiscus flower is known as “zobo” and the beverage produced in Nigeria’s major export market Latin America is Agua de Jamaica.
